Funded by NOAA B-WET (Bay Watershed Education and Training)
Earth Partnership is a collaborator on this project, with the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Ojibwe, to provide culturally-based watershed education to students, teachers, and communities.
The project has three objectives:
- Youth: Following traditional seasonal rhythms, youth will participate in seasonal harvests, learn traditional skills, and understand how watershed health and climate resilience are inextricably linked with these cultural practices.
- Educators: Educators will participate in seasonal harvest and traditional skills building in order to develop appreciation for local knowledge and cultural competency, and to deepen cultural responsiveness and community connections in their teaching practice.
- Community: Together, youth and educators will utilize their cultural and ecological knowledge to develop, enact, and communicate about water stewardship action projects in the local community.
