New Beginnings for Tribal Students projects

Wisconsin Land-Grant System Partnership for Enhancing Native College Student Readiness and Retention

and

Deepening Native Education Pathways through Experiential Learning, Cultural Connection, and Knowledge Exchange

Funded by USDA / NIFA: New Beginnings for Tribal Students

Earth Partnership is a collaborator on this project, a first-of-its-kind collaboration between the three land grant institutions in Wisconsin: College of Menominee, Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe University, and UW-Madison. This collaborative has been awarded three consecutive New Beginnings for Tribal Students awards, two of which are running concurrently.

The overall goal of these projects is to provide holistic approaches to support pre-college and college Native students that foster the flourishing of their personal and community identity as part of their unique educational pathways. We focus on creating experiential learning opportunities involving inter-institutional field courses, community-based research, internships, and mentoring through building cultural connections and knowledge exchanges among Tribal students.
